Edite Sammons (B.A., B.Ed.) (AIM Certified Teacher) began her French teaching career in 1980. After teaching in the public school system for several years, she moved into the independent school system. After observing Wendy Maxwell’s classroom in the spring of 1999, Edite became the first teacher to pilot AIM in September 1999, starting with her grade one core French classes at Havergal College, Toronto. She was subsequently awarded the Havergal Chair for Teaching Innovation in 2001. Edite has been an AIM facilitator since 2002, giving workshops across North America and as far-reaching as Australia, New Zealand and Asia. In 2011, Edite formally retired from teaching French but continues to facilitate AIM workshops for French, Spanish and English as a Second Language. She also works with AIM to provide online webinars.
