Lecture en ACTION 1A - ISBN: 978-1-926989-32-7 is based around two stories specifically designed for FSL students with a beginning fluency. One story, André et sa famille, centres around the life of a Québec pionnier family from the early 18th century.
When the family go out berry-picking, eight-year-old André gets lost and the family fears for his life. Luckily, a young Huron boy finds him, and brings him back to his village. The Huron elders return him safely to the French settlement. The other narrative features features Stéphanie, a young somewhat mischevious girl, who, on becoming bored with the local Festival du Voyageur, gets in Voyageur canoe on the nearby river. Unfortunately, the canoe becomes untethered from the dock and gets carried away in the rapids. A quick-thinking boy rushes to a bridge on the river and pulls her from the boat and reunites her with her grateful family.
Students will enjoy the stories, the lively original songs and the many activities that are included in this Pack. They will also have fun improving their language skills playing the La vie des pionniers board game. Everything is clearly laid out in a teaching guide written by literacy expert Jacqueline Kelly.
The eBooks that come with this package are beautifully told by Patience Lecostumeur and feature captivating sound effects and music

They learn that it is in giving that we receive.
Simon le grincheux is a grumpy boy who loves rain, snow, sleet and wind, and despises sunny, pleasant weather. One day he is swept up into the air by a ferocious hurricane. He is heralded by the villagers as a hero. This engaging story is written in verse; rhyming words help students identify phonetic patterns.

Lecture en ACTION 3A - ISBN: 978-1-926989-34-1 features a story – Prince Veut-Tout – written by author/teacher Jaqueline Kelly, and a poem, Ce monde by Matt and Wendy Maxwell. .
Prince Albert is also known as Prince Veut-Tout. The more material goods he has, the less satisfied he feels. One day, while speeding on his motorbike, he almost runs over an old man; this event triggers a sense of remorse in him and causes him to re-evaluate his life. While looking up at the stars one night, Prince Albert decides to become a space explorer. He heads off into the heavens in his spaceship. Years later, he returns to his home with his new-found alien friends.
Ce monde provides a poetic description of our planet, placing it in its larger astronomical context and exploring the marvel and wonder of life in the sea, in the air and on the land.
