Students will gain an understanding of the history and traditions surrounding Mardi Gras and New Orleans. The video moves from costume design and creation to display in one of the many Mardi Gras parades. In addition to the parade floats with their Krewes, beads and masks, the music, food and culture of the city of New Orleans are also highlighted. The type of revelry often associated with Mardi Gras is not a part of this video.
