Juli s music is
a wonderful enhancement
for any teacher using the AIM.

All teachers booking shows will receive a complimentary copy of Juli's hot CD, Un jour.
Un jour, the new CD by singer Juli Powers, includes songs with very catchy melodies and dynamic expression. Counting to 100.000 in French has never been as easy or fun to learn, and songs about the days of the week, months of the year, classroom objects, as well as greeting conversation, provide the French learner with remarkable tools for success. This CD appeals to students from grades four to eight.
Singer extraordinaire
Juli Powers (whose voice has been likened to the voices of Sarah McLachlan and K.D. Lang) is now available for concerts in schools across Ontario. Juli will be singing material from her newly released CD, Un jour, an eclectic collection of original rock, funk, blues and folk songs for FSL students.
In this highly interactive show, Juli, who is accompanied by two top-flight musicians, invites participation from her audience, the students sing along, play percussion instruments, respond physically to humorous French instructions, and generally have a rip-roaring good time. Juli, who taught core French for five years, most of that using the revolutionary AIM program, understands how to tailor her shows to the needs and abilities of the students she is performing for; her main mission is to make French fun and cool!
Juli began as a singer/songwriter and performer of adult contemporary music, adding French education to her repertoire shortly after her debut as a French teacher. When she discovered the AIM she was even more inspired to implement songs in her instruction. Using the PDL for vocabulary, she got instantaneous participation from her students. Juli’s performance both instructs and inspires the FSL student.
