Beginning the AIM: Part 2 This one-day workshop is intended for the beginner primary/junior AIM teachers who are in their first or second year using the AIM and who have recently taken an introductory AIM workshop. The workshop will take place in Edite Sammons’ classroom at The Country Day School in King City, allowing teachers to see classroom routines, organization of activities and resources used, including how the SMARTboard is integrated in the AIM classroom. In order to customize the workshop to teachers’ specific needs, enrolment will be limited to only 25 participants – so please register early! Topics may include the following: - using gestures more effectively in the classroom
- motivating students to speak in French
- dealing with different levels of ability in the same class
- beginning story retelling
 Edite Sammons (B.Ed) has taught core French since 1980 in both the public and independent school systems.In 1999, Edite was the first teacher to pilot the AIM in her grade one core French classes at Havergal College, Toronto and was subsequently awarded the Havergal Chair for Teaching Innovation in 2001. For several years now, Edite has been an AIM presenter, giving workshops across North America and Holland.
