Alexandra Simsilevich (B.A., M.A., B.Ed.) has been teaching French and Spanish in both elementary and senior high for the Peel District School Board in Ontario since 2002. This year, Alexandra will be the first teacher in the Peel District School Board to implement the AIM in all her grade 9 Academic and Applied French Courses. Over the course of her career in Peel, she has successfully piloted and implemented the AIM in both languages, and was the first to do so in her board. Alexandra has especially enjoyed watching her Spanish high school students rapidly develop their language skills using the Jóvenes en Acción series. Since becoming a Certified AIM Teacher in 2013, Alexandra has facilitated workshops at the AIM Summer Institute East and hosted the Foundations Webinar series in Spanish. She looks forward to using AIM for the rest of her career and teaching more French and Spanish teachers to adopt the methodology. Alexandra holds an Honours B.A. in French and Spanish, an M.A. in Spanish, and a B.Ed. in French as a Second Language and International Languages from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
