Carolina has been teaching Spanish at International School of Port Spain since 2011 in Elementary and Middle school. She grew up in Colombia and graduated with honors from La universidad Pedagógica Nacional as an Elementary School Teacher. In 2007, Carolina moved to Trinidad and Tobago to teach Spanish at The Center for Language Learner at the University of the West Indies and completed a Master in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language and in 2015, collaborated with the Publisher Collins in the development of “¡A Volar!”, a Primary Spanish course for the Caribbean. She implemented AIM in elementary with great success after attending the Summer Institute 2013 and the Foundations Teacher training. Carolina feels that AIM opened the window not only to a new way of learning and teaching, which offered her a wonderful opportunity to grow as a teacher, but allowed her students to use the language to communicate with others.
