AIM at Home

Learn Languages with our AIM Virtual Language Learning Classroom!

For years, parents have been asking for AIM online classes. We now offer classes for ages 5-7 French and 8-12 French and Spanish!
The AIM, (Accelerative Integrated Methodology) is a highly accelerative language teaching approach with proven results. It incorporates effective techniques and strategies that engage students that help them quickly understand and begin to speak, read and write.
The AIM is a scaffolded approach, where one series of lessons builds upon what is learned in previous lessons, so, unless students have prior AIM experience in their school, we recommend that students begin with Step 1 and move forward.
Lessons are offered in series of 20 Lessons over a 10-week period, to ensure that students develop the deep learning that is possible with the methodology.

What do AIM classes look like?

AIM classes are highly interactive! Students are not sitting passively. They are speaking in the target language for the entire class. Often, they are also asked to gesture as well. We stand up and move, dance and sing in every class!

In addition to a strong focus on oral language development, students will also develop written language skills through work with story and drama. At the end of each Level, students will present a play to the family in the target language. They will also have completed a workbook of scaffolded written language activities.

Throughout each level and in between the live-in person Lessons, students will be encouraged to spend a few minutes on their AIM Portal, where they will:

- review important gestured vocabulary;
- read the main story for their level in the ereader;
- sing some of the songs and raps that we learn in class;
- complete an assigned activity from their digital workbook.

Preparing a space for learning

Please ensure that students achieve the greatest success in their AIM online Classroom. We ask that you ensure that your child has:

access to a quiet room, without distractions or noise;
a computer or tablet with a screen that is large enough to clearly see the teacher and her/his gestures;
a camera on the device. This is essential as the teacher must be able to see students in order to provide feedback as they participate throughout the class.
